National Gardening (Therapy) Week
National Garden Week 2020 saw me writing a blog post for the ellenor Hospice on how we can all benefit from time spent enjoying our garden or a local park. With current global worries about COVID-19 and much reduced personal contact with family, friends and community, the ability of nature to relax and restore make those green spaces we do have access to even more valuable. Add in the capacity of gardening activities to exercise minds as well as bodies and provide the rewards of seeing effort turn to flowers or vegetables, there is no doubt that we can all help ourselves through gardening. And the best part is that it works for novice gardeners as much as the committed and whether you have big spaces to fill, a balcony or a collection of houseplants. All that matters is that your green space works for you.
