Work & Fees

How much does it cost?

Design Ideas, advice and coaching
An hourly rate of £30 for on-site visits within the Sevenoaks area regardless of the number of people present (within reason!) or the subject of the visit, and the same hourly rate for any follow-up work that I do at home, all agreed in advance.  If you live further afield, I may need to add a little to the on-site visit fee for petrol and travelling time.  Please contact me to discuss.

Each session includes printed material and the same can be supplied electronically via email immediately afterwards. Plant identification and design ideas sessions offer optional follow-up work if you would like me to write up the results of our discussion, supply plant cultivation details, draw up an outline garden plan or plant list. The cost will always be agreed in advance, usually we discuss this at the end of the on-site visit.  As a rule of thumb and depending on the size and complexity of your garden the subsequent write-up takes as long again as the on-site session or survey. So with an average sized garden you could have 1½ hours onsite advice & discussion, an action plan, sample recommended plants and a ground plan or 3D sketch within a week and for less than £100.

Practical garden projects
A proposal to undertake practical garden project work will always follow a design or advice visit and the creation of an action plan, design or planting plan.   A written proposal will be sent describing the work to be undertaken, listing materials (and who will acquire the materials), estimating the time needed, and making clear how the work will be priced.  We will agree a price with you in advance and this may be an hourly rate, daily rate or a single price for the whole job depending on t he nature of the work.

Plant sourcing
Plants will be sourced from a variety of reputable nurseries and delivered to your garden at a mutually convenient time. A written proposal will be sent for an agreed plant list identifying the cost of plants, delivery if appropriate and any details of any guarantee that the nursery provides.

All is required by cash or cheque within 14 days of an on-site session or receipt of the follow-up documentation.  Follow-up questions via telephone or email are free for a full month after the invoice date as long as the bill is not overdue..
