Garden Survey
Do you want to identify what you have in your garden?

If you have moved into a house with a well developed garden you will want to be sure of what trees, shrubs and plants you have. This will help you to decide what changes to make and also spot anything that may be unsuitable for the people who use your garden. For example some plants have irritative leaves or sap, some may have poisonous berries or simply have sharp thorns: these must be used with care if young children or people with sight problems use the garden. Some shrubs grow slowly, others need annual pruning to keep flowers below head-height & how do you know when to prune?

I will walk round the garden with you, identify the existing plants and label them (because it is so easy to forget). We can discuss the cultivation of the plants and their health and begin to decide what you want to keep and what, if anything, you want to move or remove. At the same time, we will usually look at your garden soil and talk about how to improve it. I can also do a test of the acidity/alkalinity of the soil that influences the plants that will thrive.
