Practical garden projects
Gardening by Design is not a landscaping company and part of the advanatge is that you know that all advice and any designs are simply the best solution for you: I have no vested interest in creating work for a hard-landscaper.  However not all clients can or want to undertake all their own ‘hard work’ and by working with another experienced gardener, together we can offer to take on garden projects for you such as clearing beds, recovering an overgrown garden, planting, pruning, pond-work and some small scale hard-landscaping.  The focus is on skill and experience (no team of hefty lads) so if you have a d-i-y garden project that you have been putting off, this could be for you.

Often a proposal for practical work comes from a Design Ideas report, but if not I will usually need to spend at least a 1/2 hour with you on an Advice visit to reach an agreed action plan. You will receive a written report from this visit that will be charged at the prevailing rate. A practical work proposal will be sent thereafter.

Plant sourcing
I am able to source all the plants commonly included in plant lists and many more.  Most reputable garden centres and nurseries stock a wide range of plants of all types and it can be great fun to see and select your own plants.   But if you have a specific list of requirements or plants that are not quite so commonly available, then I am happy to make a proposal to source a complete plant list (from a variety of reputable nurseries and trade establishments) and arrange for delivery to your garden.   A written proposal will be sent for an agreed plant list identifying the cost of plants, delivery if appropriate and any details of any guarantee that the nursery provides.  Gardening by Design will check the visible quality and health of the plants supplied but will not assume greater responsibiltiy for the plants than the suppplying nursery offers.
