Your Guide to Gardening by Design instead of by Accident
The Gardening by Design newsletter will be sent out approximately twice a month absolutely free of charge with no adverts to anyone who deserves a great garden and asks for a copy. I hope that you find it informative and useful as you give up gardening by accident and start gardening by design.

Each article is deliberately short so that I manage to write them and you manage to read them before everyday life kicks back in but, as you might expect, I am always happy to deliver a session in more detail on any of the topics either one-on-one or to a group/club/society.
The whole newsletter prints via Adobe Acrobat reader on a single side of A4 if you prefer to read it offline and is the ideal length to accompany a mug of tea or liven up a train commute. Here at Gardening by Design I encourage gardeners to be green so please re-use the paper once you have read it: shopping list, hamster cage etc. and then add it to the compost heap or paper recycling bin as appropriate.
Please feel very free to forward newsletters to anyone who may be interested, friends, family, gardening acquaintances, everyone is welcome. In return, I welcome comments and suggestions for future editions.
Where specific plants are mentioned I have included the Latin name as well as the most common name. This is not to sound clever but because common names are not consistent or unique (one plant with several different names or one name for several different plants). The Latin name however is specific and can be used to look up and locate plants online or at a nursery/garden centre. These names can also tell you quite a lot about the plant itself once you get the hang of a few Latin or Greek words, for example sempervirens usually tells you the plant is evergreen.
